This is the rollicking Beesly Title Theme. We made this at Xeojax Studios (www.xeojax.com) in one 12 hour stretch. Paul Marino, Matt Johnson, Jon Sack and myself were all there. It’s basically a waltz that takes the hive through good times in summer and a bit of colder winter- then back to spring again! My brother had this on his cell phone as the ring tone for a long time. Whenever anyone would play the game, everyone thought he had an incoming call. Probably my favorite Beesly Song.
This peaceful melody was created by Paul Marino from www.xeojax.com as part of the Glow Worm project. It has a very nice peaceful, forest sound to go along with the art. The chime sounsd remind me of drops of water. This song leads into the the title. The rustling sound in the background is actually a small potted plant we hauled into the recording studio.
This is Jon’s second addition to the Glow Worm family. After the basic melodies and ideas were laid down, he went on to write this variation all on his own. It has a gentle marimba line that reminds me a little of raindrops in a back yard. It’s even a little bit like the music in Pikmin for Nintendo Gamecube, which seems fitting for all the cute little glow worms.
As always, you can hear how all of this music sounds in the game with the art Shaggy made for the game at http://www.flashbangstudios.com/
This song is the latest version of the core theme of Glow Worm. Its predecessor was the very first Glow Worm song ever written. Maybe I’ll post the rough version of that some day!
After the first couple of Glow Worm songs were written, we knew the basic sound and themes we wanted for the game. Jon Sack took the basic ideas and wove them into this variation on the Glow Worm theme. This song has a waltz form.
